Poultry farming in India was mostly a backyard venture till 1960s. During the past three decades the poultry scenario in the country has changed dramatically due to the commercial broilers and layers. But again the country chicken / nati kozhi which was almost dormant in the middle years is gaining popularity and momentum in the recent past, resulting in a large number of farms for these country birds.
