Tea Tree



Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) is an evergreen shrub growing up to 6m by 4m. Its a native to Australia. It grows in Nilgiris in India. The leaves and small branches are picked and distilled to produce essential oils. Tea tree oil is an natural antiseptic. It is used for treating stings, burns, wounds and skin infections of all kinds. It is also used in the treatment of thrush, vaginal infections, ache, athlete's foot, warts, insect bites, cold sores and nits. The oils is germicidal and is also used in dentistry, deodorants, soaps and mouthwashes.
